Nightly Builds of The GIMP
About GIMP
GIMP is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.
It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.
GIMP is expandable and extensible. It is designed to be augmented with plug-ins and extensions to do just about anything. The advanced scripting interface allows everything from the simplest task to the most complex image manipulation procedures to be easily scripted.
About This Page
This page provides nightly builds of both the stable and development versions of the GIMP.
When you run the downloaded executable, it will extract itself into a new folder. You can run the GIMP by double clicking on the run_gimp file in that folder.
At the moment all of the builds are for 32 bit (i686) Windows.
All of the builds on this page are portable builds, so they can be placed on a flashdrive or network share.
Stable Series (2.8)
These builds are of the stable branch of the GIMP, including the very latest bugfixes. Most users should use the GIMP installers instead. Only use these builds if you run into a bug that has been fixed in the GIMP's git repository, but the bugfix hasn't been included in a release yet.
These binaries have been compiled and linked against the development versions of GEGL and BABL.
Latest Stable Build: 32-bit 64-bit
Development Series (2.9)
These builds are of the development branch of the GIMP. They may be very unstable, and as such should not be used in production.
DO NOT use these for any serious work. You have been warned.
Latest Development Build: 32-bit 64-bit
